Star Trek: DS9 Season 5, Episodes 1-

5x1 Apocalypse Rising September 30,1996

Where we left off, the Founders have made Odo human. Odo believes Gowron, the head of the Klingon Empire to be one of the Changelings.  Sisko,Odo,OBrien and Worf go undercover to try to expose Gowron. This is a great episode, well written,creative and very enjoyable.

5x2 The Ship October 7,1996 (100th Episode of the series)

A Jem'Hadar ship has crashed and Sisko tries to stop The Dominion from salvaging. A Great Federation vs. The Dominion episode. I loved the The Dominion commander in this. Another very good episode.

5x3 Looking for par'Mach in All the Wrong Places October 14,1996

I think this is the longest title in any of the series to date. It is a heavy Vulcan episode with Grilka, the Klingon that Quark married last season.Worf helps Quark try to win her affections. The episode ends up Worf and Jadzia hooking up.

5x4 ...Nor the Battle to the Strong October 21,1996

Great start to the season, 3 strong episodes. This one was not very memorable.

5x5 The Assignment October 28,1996 

This was an interesting episode Wraith took over Keiko's body and has O'Brien do all sorts of things or Keiko's live is in danger, the unborn baby and all sorts of stuff. It doesn't deal with my favorite characters so I didn't totally enjoy it, but it was pretty good.

5x6 Trials and Tribble-ations November 4,1996

I think this may be one of my favorite episodes of the series and Top 10 in the history of the franchise. The Defiant gets stuck in a time thing and ends up in the time of The Enterprise, more specifically The Trouble with Tribbles episode. Sisko,Jadzia,Bashir,O'Brien and Worf get to dress up in the old uniforms and interaction with the characters from the original series. It is a sweet homage.  Jadzia in the mini skirt is worth the price of admission. The Evolution of Klingon's over a short period of time is not explained.

The episode was done to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the series.


5x7 Let He Who Is Without Sin  November 11,1996

The episode takes place on Risa, the pleasure planet. Bashir,Jadzia and Worf are the featured players. I enjoyed the episode a lot. This season has not full of powerful episodes but quietly effective.

5x8 Things Past November 18,1996

Garaks first episode of the season.


Authors note: I took a break for a year and half from watching anything Star Trek related. I finished season 5 but just couldn't write about it. In January of 2016 I resumed watched watching with Season 6 and I do not wish to backtrack.
