Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season 4, Episodes 21-26

4x21 The Drumhead April 29,1991

TV Dramas at this point in the time did not do much with continuing plot lines. Continuing plot line were soaps. It was enough of a plot line and this was a ship and they were exploring space. Know then that Worf chose family disgrace in Sins of the Father (3x17), the story had been alluded to in the past but the plot returns here.

The main just of this episode is could there be a Romulan/Klingon alliance and that would be a major threat to the Federation. The episode has some wonderful trial scenes.

4x22 Half a Life May 6,1991

I am surprised an episode with Lwaxana could be thoughtful and memorable. This was as it dealt with age issues, approaching age gracefully. The episode features some really fine acting by David Ogden Stiers. It definitely is a Geritol episode. Really effective and moving.

4x23 The Host May 13,1991

Dr. Crusher does the opening log report. It appears Dr. Crusher has fallen for an Ambassador who is on board. The Ambassador gets sick and it discovered the body is just a host. At the end of the episode the host is a woman. The Romance ends there. We were not ready for that plot line in 1991.To best honest, I spent most of the time reading a book.

4x24 The Mind's Eye May 27,1991
Geordi does the opening log
Geordi is kidnapped and returns to the ship as The Manchurian Candidate. Good episode again dealing a Romulan/Klingon and was that Denise Crosby in shadows ?? Continuity plot, I like it.

4x25 In Theory June 3,1991

Picard is back to doing the opening log. Boring episode can a woman fall in love with Data.

4x26 Redemption Part 1 June 17,1991

Season finale so a lot happens. Picard has to crown the new haed of the Klingon Council. Klingon Civil War. Worf can get redemption for his family and leaves Starfleet and in the last scene Denise Crosby walks out of the shadows as a Romulan. Interesting stuff.

Overview:
After taking the month of July off, I returned to watching and it took me 2 months to get through the 26 episodes. The season had good episodes but rarely anything memorable. A lot of the episodes brought back older characters. It was a real grind to watch. I blame a lot of this on compairing the show to dramas of today.
